Congratulations to the Kosaka Abstract Award Winners!
Three investigators were selected for top honors for their innovative research that was presented during the Kosaka Best Abstract Awards Session on Sunday, April 16 at the IARS 2023 Annual Meeting. Aiman Suleiman, MD, MSc, from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School, received the Kosaka Best Clinical Research Abstract Award for his abstract, “Lung Entropic Hysteresis: The Concept of Retained Energy in Mechanically Ventilated ARDS Patients.” Richard Levy, MD, from NY Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia University, was selected for the Kosaka Best Basic Science Abstract Award for his research on “Discovery of a New Quinone Anesthetic Leads to Identification of a Novel Pharmacological Target in Mice.” Annika Witt, BSc, from Montefiore Medical Center, won the Best Scholars Abstract Award for her research, “Hispanic Ethnicity and Postoperative Discharge to a Nursing Home: A New York City Hospital Retrospective Study.” Congratulations to the winners!
