Travel Grant Application Site Now Open
An exclusive opportunity for IARS members located in low-, lower-middle-, and upper-middle-income countries, the IARS International Outreach Travel Grant supports global scientific exchange and helps increase the diversity of perspectives, backgrounds and research in anesthesiology.
Are you conducting research related to anesthesiology or perioperative medicine that you want to share with the global anesthesiology community? Are you interested in attending the 2026 Annual Meeting, presented by IARS and SOCCA, May 1-3, in Montreal, Canada?
Submit your abstract and apply for a travel grant ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to attend our 2026 Annual Meeting.

DEADLINES:
November 23, 2025: Travel Grant submissions due, 11:59 pm EST.
December 7, 2025: Abstract submissions due to the 2026 Annual Meeting, presented by IARS and SOCCA, via the meeting abstract submission site.
February 2026: Travel Grant applicants will receive submission status notification.
April 2026: Awardees announced publicly.
Two-Step Process to Apply for the International Outreach Travel Grant
- Submit an abstract to the 2026 Annual Meeting, presented by IARS and SOCCA, via the meeting abstract submission site at https://meetings.iars.org/abstracts/submissions/.
- Then, submit a travel grant application through the ProposalCentral submission site. All information requested in the travel grant application and required attachments must be supplied. Failure to do so will disqualify the application.
Applicant Eligibility Criteria
- Principal applicant must be a current IARS member.
- Principal applicant must be currently located in a low-, lower-middle- or upper-middle-income country.
- Applicants must have submitted an abstract to the 2026 Annual Meeting, presented by IARS and SOCCA, via the meeting abstract submission site at https://meetings.iars.org/abstracts/submissions/. Submitting an abstract through the travel grant process in ProposalCentral is not sufficient.
- Applicants may submit only one application for the travel grant. If you are submitting multiple abstracts to the meeting, please submit only your strongest abstract with the highest likelihood of acceptance for the travel grant.
- Applicants must be an early-career or mid-career investigator or currently in-training.
- Applicants must be pursuing a career that involves research.
- Applicants must be conducting research related to anesthesiology or perioperative medicine.
- Applicants must be connected directly or collaboratively to an anesthesia department.
Disqualifications
- Former recipients of this grant.
- More than one grant application from the same applicant.
Abstract Guidelines
- The abstract submitted to the 2026 Annual Meeting must be related to anesthesiology or perioperative medicine.
- The conducted research should be connected directly or collaboratively to an anesthesia department.
- Medically challenging cases and case reports do not qualify for this grant.
