Jeanette Esau
eLearning Manager
Jeanette Esau has been a member of IARS staff since 1999 via UCSF as an editorial office assistant. Her administrative background and BA in English served her well with the journal as she moved on to editing manuscripts. Since 2014, she has managed the OpenAnesthesia.org website and began administering the IARS’ CME learning management system in 2020. She lives in the San Francisco Bay area.
Meghan Whitbeck
Marketing and Member Engagement Director
Meghan has been a dedicated member of the IARS since 2013, bringing over 18 years of expertise in communications, marketing, meetings and member engagement. Starting her career as a journalist, Meghan developed her communication skills before moving into association work. At IARS, she plays a pivotal role in crafting marketing and communications strategies for engaging the global anesthesiology community. In her role, she also supports the Membership Committee and Subcommittees, as well as member engagement activities like the Online Member Community. Outside work, Meghan enjoys road trips with her husband and dog, Billie, and seeking out the perfect fancy donut.
Kristin Howard, CMP, HMCC
Meetings and Education Director
Kristin Howard, CMP, HMCC, has been a member of the IARS staff since 2017. With more than 18 years’ experience in the medical meetings industry, Kristin’s specialty is creating live and virtual events, with an interest in meeting technology. She enjoys being involved in her local chapter of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA). Kristin lives in the Philadelphia area with her family and spends her free time hiking on her local trails.
Andrea Stagliano Rodden
Meetings and Education Manager
Andrea Stagliano Rodden has been with IARS since 2019. She has over 13 years of experience in all aspects of the meetings and events industry, and has executed association meetings around the world. In addition to her work as a meeting planner, Andrea earned her Master’s of Education (M.Ed) in 2015 and worked in various education roles in Philadelphia before returning to association meetings. Her time in both events and education fuels her passion for producing engaging events where members can come together to share knowledge and grow professionally. Andrea lives in New Jersey and enjoys spending time with her family, visiting the local beaches, and making sourdough bread.
Tracy Katz
Meetings and Education Specialist
Tracy joined the Meetings and Education Department in 2021. In her role, she serves as a primary point of contact for speakers, guiding them through the process and managing logistics to enhance their experience for webinars and live meetings. With 17 years in the hospitality industry, Tracy brings a strong background in registration, customer service, and educational support. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling in her free time.
Jason Pointe
Publications Director
Jason has been the IARS Publishing Director since the end of 2015, overseeing the society’s two peer-reviewed journals, Anesthesia & Analgesia and A&A Practice, and the OpenAnesthesia online learning site. Before joining IARS, Jason spent 25 years in commercial publishing, starting at a boutique military history publisher before moving to healthcare where he was a journals publisher at Wolters Kluwer and then Elsevier. Jason holds a B.A. in History of Art from Johns Hopkins University and an M.A. in Publications Design from the University of Baltimore.
Daniel Mount
Publishing Manager
Daniel began working for IARS Journals in 2017. In his current role as Publishing Manager, he assists the leadership of Anesthesia & Analgesia and A&A Practice with creating and implementing strategies to maximize cultivation and dissemination of Journal content. In his free time, Daniel enjoys taking long road trips and reading.
Tricia Brazil
Program Director, Research Awards
Tricia has spent over 20 years working in the non-profit sector as a Program Director. She spent 13 years working with young people in the public health sector, focusing on youth advocacy, community change and tobacco, alcohol and other drug prevention. She has been with IARS since 2015 and has served as the Director of SmartTots, the IARS initiative to address potential pediatric anesthetic neurotoxicity, as well as the Director of the IARS awards programs, helping IARS meet its mission to advance the science of anesthesiology and improve patient care. Outside of work, Tricia enjoys travel, friends, family, and time in nature.
Julie Bradaric, IOM, CAE
Operations Director
Julie has been with the IARS since 2008. She is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management program and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE).
