Your membership support allows IARS to provide vital resources to enable clinicians and scientists worldwide to lead the global anesthesiology community to advance the science and practice of medicine.

The IARS offers several membership tiers for joining the organization.

Tier 1 Memberships

(Print journal included, with option to opt out of the print journal if desired, dues rates are annual.)

Full: $225.00

• Individuals with doctorate degrees (MD, PhD, DMD, DDS, DVM, etc.), who are engaged in active clinical practice or research relating to anesthesia, pain management or perioperative medicine.

Allied Health: $150.00

• Allied Health professionals licensed or accredited in anesthesia-related specialties such as CRNA, AA, etc. (non-doctorate individuals).
• Individuals who are interested in anesthesia research or research outcomes.

Retired: $75.00

• Members who have recently retired and been a member for 10 years or more. To become a member at this level, please contact Member Services at [email protected] or 1-240-646-7089.

Organizational Memberships: $195.00 per member

• If your organization has five or more individuals, please email [email protected] to set up an organizational membership.

Tier 2 Memberships

(Online-only journal, dues rates are annual.)

Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC)

LMIC Level I and II: $65.00

LMIC Level III: $100.00

• Individuals residing in developing countries, as classified by the World Bank, are eligible for lower membership dues.
• Applications for membership in these lower dues categories must include a primary address within the Category I, II or III country.

Early Career: $100.00

• Individuals with doctorate degrees who completed their residency or fellowship within the past 5 years. Date completed last training must be provided.

Fellows, In-Training and Medical Students: Complimentary

• Physicians in approved anesthesiology training programs.
• Graduate students or postdoctoral scholars with an interest in research relating to anesthesia or pain management.
• Individuals in medical school or training programs for other disciplines (i.e. CRNA training, dentistry training, veterinary medicine training, anesthesiology assistant training, etc.) or enrolled in medical school.
• Program institution name, program start, and anticipated end date must be provided.

Tier 3 Journal Affiliate Society Memberships

Members of Anesthesia & Analgesia journal affiliate societies receive a discount on IARS membership. Contact your affiliate society for the IARS discount code. Only one society discount may be used per annual membership. These membership discounts do not apply to APSF or WFSA. See Journal Affiliate Societies for the list.

The IARS is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, a portion of membership dues may be treated as a deductible business expense. Please note IARS membership dues are not refundable. Exceptions may be made under special circumstances and if requested within three months of payment.
