Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Anesthesia & Analgesia and Executive Editor, A&A Practice

The International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS) announces its search for the post of Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Anesthesia & Analgesia and Executive Editor, A&A Practice.

In addition to serving as Deputy to the Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Jaideep J. Pandit, the new Editor will primarily lead a growth strategy for A&A Practice, seeking to expand article types and scope. The new Editor will be appointed in late 2025 or early 2026 for an initial 5-year term beginning in Q1 2026. This is a part-time, contract position.

Applicants should have good experience of editing at journal board level, an understanding of publishing strategies, a broad perspective of the anesthesiology field and be astute to emerging areas of research and practice. A high level of visibility and recognized leadership in anesthesiology research, scholarly publication, and practice are expected. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with prominent, peer-reviewed scholarly journals as author, peer reviewer, and editorial board member, and demonstrate access to a large network of experts working in fields relevant to clinical anesthesiology, including perioperative medicine, critical care, and pain management.

Applications should be received by November 30, 2025, and include a cover letter describing the reasons for interest in the position, a brief description of the candidate’s editorial experience, and a curriculum vitae. After a review of applications, a short list of candidates will advance to interviews.
